MY COLUMN: Wynn joins Adelson crusade against web gaming
I can barely remember the days when Sheldon Adelson and Steve Wynn didn’t like each other. They were like two neighbors who would only come out of their houses – nice houses, mind you, on Las Vegas Boulevard South – to snarl at one another. I sensed a genuine dislike and disdain.

This morning, Las Vegas Councilman Bob Beers, through Review-Journal columnist John L. Smith, asserted he would run against Senate Majority leader Harry Reid in 2016. My initial thoughts:

Four years ago, Sharron Angle gave to Democrats the greatest gift they could have asked for in the campaign, assuring through her nomination that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid would be re-elected. Now, Angle is about to prove that she is the gift that keeps on giving. Or so some opponents of voter ID would hope as Nevada, inevitably, becomes a focal point of the national, partisan battle over voter suppression laws.

Culinary opens new front against Station Casinos, erects site to pound its web poker portal
Unable to organize the Station Casino properties, the Culinary Union has sent letters to elected officials, held demonstrations and caused problems for the company in other jurisdictions. Now the union has opened a new front, using its formidable research department and web savvy to erect a site dedicated to casting doubts about the company's online poker portal. "Ultimate Sucker" is a play on the Station-sponsored site, "Ultimate Gaming." Apologies to Steinbeck, but wherever Station is, the Culinary will be there.
National labor leaders tell Reid, Pelosi they are "bitterly disappointed" with Obamacare regulations
In a scathing letter to congressional leaders, the head of the Culinary's parent union and the national laborers' organization lambasted the administration's implementation of Obamacare, saying it "undermines fair market competition" and emphasized they are "bitterly disappointed."
