Ah, the DCCC hive at work

On Thursday, congressional contender Erin Bilbray sent out this pitch with the slug, "You wont (sic) believe this?" at the top:

We know Speaker Boehner recently made a trip to Nevada to support my opponent, even he knows we are on track to beat Joe Heck. But he's not the only one who is worried about our campaign. This week, the Koch brothers, who have bankrolled some of the most right wing politicians and policy campaigns in recent memory, convened some of the richest right-wing donors in the country to plot where to spend their millions on attacks in 2014.
You can bet they’ll be focusing on our race here in Nevada's 3rd district.
In 2012, the Koch brothers’ vast network of outside groups raised over $400 million to use on misleading, deceitful attacks. This year, they could surpass that sum.
Smart campaigns don’t wait around and let the other side’s attacks take hold with voters. They fight back.

$3? What?

No matter. What struck my fancy was this entreaty from California Rep. Lois Capps on Friday:

Capps for Congress Banner

Dear       ,

The Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Congressman Steve Israel, is concerned about my race.
And we know why.
This week, the Koch brothers convened with some of the richest right-wing donors in the country to plot where to spend their millions on attacks in 2014.
We know they’ll be focusing on our race here in California’s 24th district.
Smart campaigns don’t wait around and let the other side’s attacks take hold with voters. They fight back.
So, that’s what we’re going to do.  But, I can’t do it without your help.  Our January 31st fundraising deadline is the first of 2014.  Will you help us make sure we have enough to battle the Kochs?

Notice any similarities? Or verbatim imagination?

I guess once you are an incumbent you can ask for $5.

Yes, they all do it. But next time you receive a heartfelt, panting solicitation from one of these folks, know that they are just the dummies and the DC folks the ventriloquists.
