UPDATED: Former deputy sues Vegas constable for sexual harassment, names Clark County for lax oversight

UPDATE, 11/12/13: Attorney Andrew Rempfer says -- and this is the epitomy of irony -- the constable has evaded service. You know, what people usually do to constables trying to serve them!

And, according to an email trail he provided, John Bonaventura's lawyer won't be served, either:

Mr. Pool: Your comments below are inapposite to your Notice of Appearance,
Docket #7. That Notice proves you have implied authority to accept service.
In re Focus Media, Inc., 387 F.3d 1077 (9th Cir. 2004). I will give you one
day to reconsider your statement below. If you refuse, please advise where
and when we will find Mr. Bonaventura on Thursday, November 14, 2013. If yo=
u
refuse to provide that information, we will seek leave of Court to publish
service against him and point out the reasonable efforts we took to avoid
involving the Court in this matter.

Judge Ferenbach, I believe, would grant us the right to publish service
against Mr. Bonaventura.

Regards,

The embarrassment that is the Las Vegas constable's office just got more embarrassing as a former deputy filed a lawsuit Monday alleging sexual harassment, hostile work environment and myriad other claims.

The suit also names John Bonaventura's aide, Lou Toomin, and contains descriptions of how the constable made overtures to former Deputy Kristy Henderson and how she was expected to help make a silly reality show happen. It also names Clark County because it oversees the constable's office, which it now wants to abolish.

The suit says Henderson has gone through the proper channels, first approaching the Equal Rights Commission before receiving a right-to-sue letter in late August. Her complaints were contained in this August story in the Las Vegas Sun.

There are also allegations of racist remarks in the suit.

Sounds like a fun place to work.
