Owner of newspaper gives $200,000 last year

ADDENDUM: The SOS search engine did not pick up a $5,000 contribution to Irene Bustamante Adams because she reported it as "Las Vegas Sand Corp." So it's actually $209,000 and three Democrats.

MORE: The SOS search angine also missed a $25,000 contribution to AG Adam Laxalt's PAC. So total now up to $234,000.

The Las Vegas Sands, a k a Sheldon Adelson, gave $204,000 in campaign contributions in state and local races in 2015, secretary of state's records show.

Just under half ($87,500) went to legislative candidates as both houses are up for grabs next cycle, including a couple of Democrats (Olivia Diaz, Elliot Anderson). Both Diaz and Anderson are virtual locks for re-election.

Funny to see Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman take $15,000 from Adelson, especially after the Clark County folks keep whining about how she doesn't represent the county, where Adelson's business resides.

Adelson also owns the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
