Pence adds voice to anti-web gaming chorus
Indiana Gov. Mike Pence has joined Sheldon Adelson's crusade for a federal prohibition against Internet gaming, asking members of his state's congressional delegation to sign on, too. "I believe it is necessary for Congress to restore the original interpretation of the Wire Act that prohibited Internet gambling nationwide, and I encourage you to support legislation that would accomplish this end," Pence, considered a possible 2016 contender, writes in a letter (posted here) to his DC delegation.

Bundys urge supporters to file criminal complaints Friday
As Rep. Steven Horsford asks Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie to probe reports of militia members harrassing Bunkerville citizens, the Bundy family is asking supporters to file criminal complaints Friday with Metro against the BLM. "We believe that the BLM men who pointed guns at over 1,000 people on April 12th near the I-15 freeway south of  Mesquite committed a criminal act and that the Clark County Sheriffs office should be required to investigate," Carol Bundy, Cliven's wife, wrote in an email to supporters that I have posted below. UPDATED: One day after I revealed the existence of this affidavit, Lowden filed a document in the court case trying to get it thrown out because it was initially unsigned. Â In the filing, which I have attached here, Lowden essentially argues that the pollster suing her is engaging in "litigation abuse" by trying to revise and refile a document after a deadline has passed. Maybe so. But consider: 1. She realizes just how damaging her ex-campaign manager's affidavit is. 2. Remember this is over a $77,000 bill. ---- Â

Northern and southern building trades groups are passing around a resolution at the AFL-CIO convention opposing The Education Initiative. The resolution, attached here, says "until the effects of the Education Initiative are clearly defined we oppose the passage and implementation of the measure."

Rep. Steven Horsford has asked Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie to look into persistent reports of militia members supporting Cliven Bundy making Bunkerville residents "feel unsafe." Horsford penned a letter this weekend to the sheriff, outlining various concerns by residents he first disclosed last week. The letter is attached. Â Â
