Was Adam Laxalt the first statewide candidate to ever win without taking either urban county?
After successful attorney general candidate's campaign manager, Robert Uithoven, asserted Adam Laxalt was the first statewide candidate in modern history to win while losing both urban counties, I wondered if that was true. So I had the nonpareil researchers in the Legislative Counsel Bureau's library check for me. And you know what? Uithoven was not far from right.

So first Roll Call's Abby Livingston posts a story about Democratic comebacks that mentions defeated Rep. Steven Horsford. Only hours later, the man who vanquished Horsford, Assemblyman Cresent Hardy, began his re-election campaign even before he takes office. And that picture of Nancy Pelosi!
