Good morning, everyone. I am thinking of moving to Carson City, taking up residence in the Hardman House (Adele’s proximity!) and writing two books – one about the 2015 Legislature, which will be unlike any in Nevada history, and one on Harry Reid. Which would have the craziest stuff in it? Lots of good stuff coming this weekend in premium content. And I’ll have a column Sunday, too. Damn. I thought this was supposed to be the slow time. But I guess I should thank the Assembly GOP for the raft...
Good morning, everyone. ICYMI, I urge you to check out Speaker-for-the-Moment John Hambrick’s appearance on “Ralston Reports” last night. He tried to dispel any impression Majority Leader-for-the-Moment Michele Fiore, whom he disclosed spent an entire day gathering proxies for him, is the power behind the throne. And he also twice said he was open to taxes for education funding, despite having signed the idiotic tax pledge. As the governor and Democrats try to find 10 other Republicans who...
TONIGHT'S RALSTON REPORTS: We'll see. DAYS UNTIL THE GREATEST LEGISLATIVE SESSION EVER BEGINS: 61 DAYS UNTIL THE STATE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN: 210 DAYS UNTIL THE 2016 ELECTION: 706       Good morning, everyone. Thanks to my pal, Steve Sebelius, for this. Very classy. Don’t worry, I say again, dear Flashees: I’m not going anywhere. Will still be Flashing and posting, and I already have offers and feelers. More to come soon. I just can’t decide which book to do first. the Reid...
TONIGHT'S RALSTON REPORTS: We'll see. DAYS UNTIL THE GREATEST LEGISLATIVE SESSION EVER BEGINS: 62 DAYS UNTIL THE STATE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN: 211 DAYS UNTIL THE 2016 ELECTION: 707       Good morning, everyone. First, let me say I am still overwhelmed by the outpouring after my announcement Monday that “Ralston Reports” will go off KSNV’s air on Dec. 12. It has been gratifying, and it is much appreciated. I could not be prouder of what Dana Gentry and I have accomplished in almost 14...
On Monday, the day before the Assembly Republican Caucus was scheduled to vote on new leaders, Michele Fiore arrived unannounced at the Las Vegas Strip office of Sheldon Adelson. The second-term assemblywoman, who had helped elevate Ira Hansen to speaker-designate only to see that collapse under the weight of racist and hompohobic offal he had produced as a columnist, had a new plan: She wanted to derail the candidacy of Paul Anderson, who, by most accounts, had the votes to succeed Hansen....
If your name isn't on this bipartisan list -- how many fundraisers have Shelley Berkley and Joe Heck on them? -- I'd suggest you are in trouble with The Family. And amid the Establishment stalwarts and lobbyists, there are some gadflies on there, too -- Steve Sanson and Wayne Allyn Root are well-known political fringe types -- so this is quite the ecletic list. (UPDATED: Hadn't noticed at first that this event for the mayor of Las Vegas is not in....Las Vegas. It's in the unincorporated county...
Assembly Republicans named a speaker Tuesday evening, but there was no election. Here’s what happened, according to several sources: Ira Hansen, he of the racist, homophobic and misogynistic columns, ran the meeting, which in the unkindest cut of all, took place at the office of Paul Anderson, the presumptive speaker before Tuesday’s machinations. Hansen immediately announced he had in hand 12 signed proxies plus his vote, giving him a majority of the caucus of 25. As John Hambrick sat nearby,...
